The family is here, but the specially equipped van isn't yet: help us buy it!

Hi, I'm Letizia.Together with my husband Gigi, we’ve been sharing our lives and our home with those most in need for over thirty years. Ours is a foster home with the Pope John XXIII Community: a rather special family, born from a deep desire to open our arms to so many children—and others—whom life has wounded and who haven’t received the warmth and love that every person deserves. About six years ago, the Lord knocked on our door, entrusting us with an immense gift: a little boy just five months old. His health condition was—and still is—delicate and complex. When we met him, he was alone in an intensive care bed, without a mom or dad to hold him close. But his heart wanted to live, and as soon as he was able to be discharged from the hospital, we welcomed him with open arms as our own son. And so a wonderful new adventure began! Welcoming him were not only our older children, but also his two little sisters (who also have disabilities), who live with us and care for him with infinite love. Today, however, we face a daily challenge that we can no longer overcome on our own. Our old car, which until now has allowed us all to travel together, is no longer enough. Luca has grown and needs to travel in his special orthopedic stroller; beside him are his sisters with their wheelchairs and walkers. We urgently need a minivan equipped with a lift platform, which is essential for safely and comfortably loading their mobility aids. The cost is high: €42,000.For our family, this new vehicle represents freedom, dignity, and peace of mind. It gives Luca and his siblings the chance to leave the house, go to school, and travel to hospitals and clinics for necessary appointments and therapies—but also to participate in community life, family outings, and celebrations. Total project goal: 42.000 €

Gigi and Letizia are the parents of Il Cireneo Family Home, a residential care facility run by the Pope John XXIII Community, located in Massarosa, in the province of Lucca. For over thirty years, they have been providing care for people with physical and mental disabilities. Now they need your help to raise the €42,000 needed to purchase a minibus that will allow the young people in their care to face each day without letting any obstacle become a limitation.
