If shared, what we have and what we are becomes wealth

Hello everyone! I am Marta and in January this year I left as a volunteer with the Pope John XXIII Community and spent 6 months in a mission area in Zambia, in the city of Ndola. Sharing a part of this journey with other volunteers and civil service, we decided to open a fundraiser in order to be able to help the Zambian children and youth followed by Cicetekelo Youth Project. Cicetekelo, from the very beginning, has been dedicated to addressing a widespread reality in Zambia: that of children and youth caught up in a sad situation of poverty and family hardship, which has driven them to leave their family context and begin a life on the streets.I was able to observe with my own eyes the conditions of hardship in which they live, as I was included in the first phase of the project, called Luigi Drop In Center, a place that serves as a bridge between street life and the subsequent phases of the project. I was involved, together with the educators, in the day and night monitoring activities and in organizing the activities carried out within the center, working alongside the boys in their daily lives. Cicetekelo's long-term goals aim above all in the support of many boys in their educational and scholastic journey, identifying their potential and talents and, consequently, seeking the appropriate means to enhance them. Education, therefore, also in Zambia, represents the key and the possibility to know and build one's own idea of the world and of the future. The purpose of our collection is thepurchase of new school materials to improve educational services and give an extra chance to those children who are still immersed in a situation of hardship. Walking together with them, I have learned how so little is needed, simply someone to take care of them and make them feel loved. I believe that, more than anything else,Love is sharing, confrontation, giving yourself to the other completely. Love is what you do regardless of what you receive. Love is fighting for the good of someone, even if that someone will never see the value or sacrifice you made to give them that love. I invite you to read the main page where the project I have been on and the next goals we would like to achieve are explained in depth. The world changes to the extent that each one of us changes. Your help is so valuable, it can make a difference for the future of these kids. A small contribution from you can make a dream come true Come on, are you in?

Hello everyone!

I am Marta and in January this year I left as a volunteer with the Pope John XXIII Community and spent 6 months in a mission area in Zambia, in the city of Ndola.

Sharing a part of this journey with other volunteers and civil service, we decided to open a fundraiser in order to be able to help the Zambian children and youth followed by Cicetekelo Youth Project.

Cicetekelo, from the very beginning, has been dedicated to addressing a widespread reality in Zambia: that of children and youth caught up in a sad situation of poverty and family hardship, which has driven them to leave their family context and begin a life on the streets.

I was able to observe with my own eyes the conditions of hardship in which they live, as I was included in the first phase of the project, called Luigi Drop In Center, a place that serves as a bridge between street life and the subsequent phases of the project.

Love is fighting for the good of someone, even if that someone will never see the value or sacrifice you made to give them that love.

The fundraiser supports the project: Support school projects for Cicetekelo children
Total project goal: 8.000 €

In Zambia, the Pope John XXIII Community's Cicetekelo Project is dedicated to welcoming and caring for street children and young people living in hardship and poverty. Here, every year, we try to improve the educational services offered to give more and more children and young people the opportunity to become protagonists of their own lives. To do this we need to buy new materials and activate new school projects-now we need everyone's help! Come on, are you in?
