On the road again
The family house "the garden of joy" is taking shape. We have started to make some interventions especially to be able to welcome don Marco who has been with us since 21st February. But we still have to do some works to make the place more welcoming and convivial. To do this we also need your help.

Fundraising by Antonio&Alessia Martino
To do this we also need your help.
30,790 €
The fundraiser supports the project: From a friary to a house to continue welcoming people in difficulty
Total project goal:
33.000 €
The Pope John XXIII Community has received free use of the Convent of Arcidosso (GR), but in order to live there and welcome children and people in difficulty, many works are needed to make it compliant and accessible. Help the family and the Community to meet this expense!
Thank you all

"A faithful friend is a powerful protection; he who finds him, finds a treasure. For a faithful friend, there is no price, no weight to his worth. A faithful friend is a balm of life; those who fear the Lord will find him." (Sirach 6:14-16). So says the Bible and we have been experiencing this for years. In this adventure that began on 2/8/2019, we feel accompanied by so many friends near and far who witness to us material and spiritual support. Thank you for your contribution to the fundraising: now the project is beginning to take shape, despite the complexity of the period we are living in. We have done some work to eliminate architectural barriers (also creating a disabled bathroom) in order to be able to accommodate people in wheelchairs, work has been done to make the heating system more efficient and work will soon begin on the collection and purification of dirty water... all this with your help. Once again, thank you.
A cozy place...

Our "House in the Family, the garden of joy" wants to be a welcoming place, convivial and of proximity; attentive to Creation and to those who will be our neighbours by welcoming them into our family. In the month of February 2020 Don Marco arrived, with whom we have been sharing the journey for about thirty years, but now, after a serious accident in the mountains, he is totally paralyzed. His faith and his courage are for us a great example and testimony. Since October, Gary has been with us, a sunny 5-year-old boy who, despite the various physical difficulties, expresses so much joy and desire to live. It is a joy to continue this adventure also thanks to your support.
