We keep believing with every step

Also this year I spent several months in Lebanon, but with the idea of returning to put down roots in Italy, transformed by having lived for long periods, in recent years, alongside these people in refugee camps. It makes me happy to know that I have been part of a journey, with people who arrived before me and people who will now spend months of their lives alongside their Syrian friends. This is a very hard time in Lebanon, inflation is skyrocketing, life is increasingly unsafe for families, especially for boys and girls. It is a colder winter than usual, with stoves that no longer have fuel to burn and go on plastic and sometimes wood. More and more families are thinking of leaving by sea; there are many young people who in recent months have left the country for Belarus, hoping to enter Europe from Poland, and who have found themselves stuck in the forests, sleeping in the freezing snow and without food. The trip I made recently with Operazione Colomba to the Polish border reminded me once again that we cannot stop thinking, together with these people, about a way to peace, because even if we wanted to, we can no longer ignore them, the cries reach our borders of Europe, up to our homes. This year I would like every Christmas present to be transformed into a small or large support for the presence of volunteers in Lebanon, we must move forward alongside these sisters and brothers, in order to save ourselves together.Thank you!
