20 years in At-Tuwani

In September 2004, volunteers from Operation Dove were making an initial exploratory trip to At-Tuwani. Twenty years later, we would like to be able to say that the hundreds of Palestinians in the hills south of Hebron/Al Khalil have regained their freedom, all their denied Rights, their land.We would like to celebrate the anniversary by drinking mint tea in their company, remembering the times when the presence of internationals was necessary to monitor the escort of children going to school. Unfortunately, in reality things have turned out differently. After October 7, 2023, violence has reached extreme levels: attacks by Israeli settlers are daily and increasingly violent, settlements are expanding like wildfire, shepherds can no longer access their own land, the army presence is constant, more and more arbitrary arrests are taking place, and children can no longer get to school in At-Tuwani because the military escort (which had somehow protected their safety over the years) has been revoked. The progress achieved in 20 years of accompanying Palestinian nonviolent resistance is now threatened.Operation Dove's presence is increasingly needed. We need everyone's support to ensure it.Thank you very much.Ele and Sara

In September 2004, volunteers from Operation Dove were making an initial exploratory trip to At-Tuwani.

Twenty years later, we would like to be able to say that the hundreds of Palestinians in the hills south of Hebron/Al Khalil have regained their freedom, all their denied Rights, their land.
We would like to celebrate the anniversary by drinking mint tea in their company, remembering the times when the presence of internationals was necessary to monitor the escort of children going to school.

The progress achieved in 20 years of accompanying Palestinian nonviolent resistance is now threatened.

Operation Dove's presence is increasingly needed. We need everyone's support to ensure it.
Thank you very much.

The fundraiser supports the project: Operation Dove in Palestine - 2024
Total project goal: 15.000 €

Since 2002, volunteers from Operation Dove have been present in Palestine, first in the Gaza Strip, in Al Qarara (Khan Younis), then since 2004 in the West Bank, in the village of At-Tuwani (hills south of Hebron). Today more than ever, therefore, the presence of Operation Dove volunteers is essential: to protect the safety of the Palestinian inhabitants of the area, who just want to live on their own land.
