The Kronós and Kairós Conference we want to hold on October 23 and 24 in Rimini is more than a meeting: it is an investment of lives being reborn. This moment will be useful to read the evolution of the phenomenon of drug addiction and identify the appropriate choices to be made. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of Don Oreste Benzi, founder of the Pope John XXIII Community and the large family born from his insight and vocation. He, who gave his life to be a family for those who do not have one, taught us to never leave anyone alone, especially those who lose their way.
Among the many lives we have crossed and embraced are those broken by addiction. From the 1980s to the present, our therapeutic communities and drop-in realities have been a refuge for thousands of people seeking a way out of the abyss of substances. Seeing their lives flourish again is proof that love can indeed heal.
Addiction is a face-changing enemy that creeps in everywhere, regardless of age, gender or social status, and leaves behind deep wounds in individuals and their families. At this crucial moment, we feel the need to look with fresh eyes at the path we have traveled and the one that lies ahead.
That's why we want to organize an expert discussion, a space to listen to young people and people who are facing or have faced the path out of it. WILL YOU HELP US MAKE IT HAPPEN?

The Greeks called Kronós the inexorable passage of time, but also Kairós the propitious moment, the one in which everything can change, in which the right opportunity manifests itself.Why a conference?To understand, to learn, to identify together the right choices, those that will allow us to continue to welcome in the most appropriate way and be a beacon of hope for those who live in darkness.
For this appointment we have chosen simplicity and essentiality, but a moment like this has unavoidable costs, such as the rental of the hall and technical costs for audio and video systems, information materials for participants. This is not JUST A CONVENTION, but an investment of LIVES THAT REBORN.
In a particular year when the anniversary of Don Oreste's birth is seeing "his family" engaged in many initiatives aimed at bringing his message to the generations who did not know him, we are looking for support in those who can and want to help us realize them, to cover at least part of the necessary expenses.
