On Tuesday, September 3, a vast fire destroyed one of our Therapeutic Community's facilities in Rimini. The flames devoured equipment and facilities used in occupational activities. Help us immediately to rebuild.
On Tuesday, Sept. 3, a vast fire devastated one of the facilities of our Therapeutic Community "Sant'Aquilina" in Rimini, a reality of the Pope John XXIII Community that welcomes people who are victims of addiction with the aim of helping and supporting them in a path of rebirth. The structure inside housed the equipment - agricultural and otherwise - that the boys used for educational and occupational activities, crucial to their path to recovery.
Very high flames, a tall column of black smoke visible from miles away, and within minutes, the fire devoured everything. Only the steel frame remained. The entire photovoltaic system was also reduced to ashes, along with a truck and the electric bicycles the boys were using to get around independently.
Fortunately, no lives were endangered because no one was inside the facility at the time. But the damage is extensive and the losses are devastating for this place that represents a rebirth for the many people who, thanks to these activities, can learn a trade and have a second chance.
As of today, we urgently need your help to rebuild as quickly as possible what the fire has taken away and to continue to ensure, for those who are struggling with all their strength against addiction and marginalization, a path of rebirth that will help them get back on their feet.
The damages certainly amount to hundreds of thousands of euros, but together, with your support, we can do it. Every donation, no matter how large or small, is essential to help us cope with this emergency.

Dear Friends,
we are writing to thank you for thegreat generosity with which you responded to our request for help, following the fire that destroyed one of the facilities in use at the "Sant'Aquilina" Therapeutic Community in Rimini of the Pope John XXIII Community Cooperative.
The last checks, related to the investigation into the cause of the fire, have been completed. This procedure was essential before they could proceed with the demolition of what was left. From what emerges, this was an accident, to which we want to respond with strength, optimism and unity.
These days, we are waiting to receive formal permission to be able to start building our new shed.
We will keep you updated on the progress of the work; in the meantime, again, a big thank you for all you have done for us and especially for our boys, whom we are all accompanying together on their journey to a new life.
